About our program:

Bottoms, don’t you just hate it when someone messes with your mind? Or…do you actually love it, just a little…

Tops, do you get a thrill out of making your bottom squirm, or pulling off a good mindfuck?

Come join us as we explore the convoluted paths of psychological play. Not for the faint of heart, our presentation will look at Fear & Terror Play; Rape and/or Abduction Simulation; Interrogation; Humiliation, Objectification and Degradation; Mindfucks; Playing with Taboos; Fetishism; Animal Roleplay and other delicious mind games. We will explore what works, why it works, and the safety issues one must be thinking about when engaging in this form of play.

About our presenter:

Richard Sprott, PhD is a developmental psychologist and cognitive scientist.

As an active member of the San Francisco Leather scene since 1990, he has been involved in several local leather organizations. He holds the title of San Francisco Leather Daddy XXIII. He is also the Executive Director of the Community-Academic Consortium for Research on Alternative Sexualities (CARAS), which supports scholarly and scientific research into BDSM sexuality, polyamory, and swinging.

He has presented a variety of both psychological and SM technical topics to community groups including the Society of Janus, smOdyssey, The Eulenspiegel Society, Avatar, and LDG.

About the Janus Xplore Series:

The Janus Xplore Series is a presentation of several “overview” classes, typically one per month, on Sunday afternoons. These classes are intended to give the participants a solid, high-level overview of one area – not an in-depth class, but a great launching point to ask questions, and really see the wide range of activities possible.
