Silent Porn Film Sunday - January 10, 2010, 1:00 pm

When I was growing up, the family scandal was that my grandmother went to see “Deep Throat” at the Flick Twin Theatre. She went there on a date with her boyfriend. I thought it was interesting, before I ever knew how revolutionary that was.

I love the naughty nickelodeons that show the reckless abandon of the early film explorers, and so when I heard of an opportunity to see it on the big screen, I couldn’t think of anyone else I wanted to bring except my pervy pals from the community.

The Good Old Naughty Days (French title: Polissons et galipettes or Rascals and somersaults, is a collection of 12 silent hardcore pornographic shorts from the early 1900s.

Lazy Labor Day 2009 Picnic Recap - Off Leash

A couple weeks ago, a gaggle of our kinky friends came together in Golden Gate Park for SOJ's Not Your Family’s Labor Day Picnic. Picture this - the weather was perfect, sunny and warm with a light breeze. We had two big picnic tables in the sun, and people set up blankets in the shade of the trees. Tightrope walking (seriously), frisbee, a whole lot of blanket loafing, one underutilized hula hoop, and no day in the park is complete without doggies.

Jen and Christian were grill masters and kept the food coming all afternoon long - burgers and veggie burgers, hot dogs, and sausage links. There were more chips than we could fathom, homemade brownie bites, and yummy watermelon.

At one moment, the park rangers came by to check on people's fires and adherence to leash laws. There was a mad dash to get the doggies on leash. Giggles as there were more offers for leashes than dog owners. Hmmm....

Card & Board Game Afternoon Social - October 24, 2009

Saturday, October 24, 2-4pm. What could be more fun than an afternoon of board and card games in San Francisco's only kink café? Trivial Pursuit, Monopoly, Chess, and cards. I even hear that Wicked Grounds owns a kinky board game.

This event is a great way to meet your fellow kinksters in a casual environment that is very kink friendly. This is a "come as you are" event. Everyone that is 18+ with an interest in BDSM is welcome. You do not need to be a Janus member to attend.

Roller Derby Recap

Social hosted a group of small group of kinksters at the Bay Area Derby Girls (B.A.D. Girls for short) roller derby last Saturday, July 11. I am still buzzing from the excitement.

When we got there at 6:30, there was already a line. I knew it was going to be good. We raced inside and grabbed seats on the front row. Score! We had a small group, just seven, but we held our own cheering and booing like seasoned fans. The best part about the roller derby is that you don't have to learn a lot about rules to figure out how it works. You can pick out the lead jammer from by the glittery star on her helmet (and, well, because she is the one they are trying to beat to all hell while she tries to score points).
