Having a hot and heavy Spring? SoJ Newbie Only Coffee Monday May 14th 7pm

Ready to dance around the May Pole? After all the dance is a fertility rite, the pole….well you can just guess what that symbolizes, and the baskets at the end of white streamers emanating from the tip doesn’t take all that much imagination, does it?

If you think that dancing naked to celebrate human sexuality is just what the doctor ordered, then you just might be interested in many of the other wonderfully human ways to get to know people and get to know yourself. And if the only dancing you are interested in is that done by a luscious bottom at the end of a single tail (or just wonder what a single tail is), perhaps the kink world might offer a way to find out.

How to get started? Come on in to the Society of Janus’ Newbie Only Coffee Social (NOCS). We’re meeting this month on the evening of the second Monday, May 14. (Two weeks after this year’s May Pole dance but it will give you a bunch of time to practice before the next one). We start at 7 PM.

Once again, the Society of Janus is pleased to provide this event at our favorite kink-positive coffee (and other yummy things) house, Wicked Grounds. They’re located at 289 8th Street (between Howard and Folsom; three blocks from BART), San Francisco. Look for us in the back and grab some coffee or a snack to support the coffee shop. We want them around for a long time.

If you are new to kink or you are new to the community, if you have questions about the Society of Janus, or about kink in general, we would love to see you there.

  • Are you curious about the kink/BDSM scene but you'd like some support while you explore?
  • Want to talk to people who have an idea of what you're going through?
  • Maybe you just want to meet a few friendly faces before your first kink class or event.

The SoJ Mentoring Director and SoJ Welcoming Director will be there to answer questions and share our experiences after being in the scene for a number of years. The NOCS is a great place to meet fellow newbies in a respectful and low-pressure setting where no question is stupid and there is no required protocol. Find out more about the Society of Janus or about getting a mentor.

The SoJ Newbie Social is open to all 'new' members of the Kinky Community. You need not be a Janus Member to attend. More experienced kinksters who want to attend must get approval from the Mentoring Director.

Not sure if you're new or have a topic to propose? Send an email to mentoring (at) soj.org with any questions or ideas. Hope to see you there.
